Middle School English Teacher
Clairbourn School, conveniently located in the San Gabriel Valley, is actively seeking an English teacher for sixth through eighth grade for the 2025-2026 school year. Appropriate candidates will feel comfortable teaching English grammar, vocabulary, writing in various styles, analysis of literature, and speaking and presentation skills in a literature-based program. Contract to begin August 1, 2025. Teachers report August 21, 2025 and have several orientation days prior.
Successful candidates will possess the following:
BA/BS degree
Teaching credential and/or Master’s degree with a Single Subject Credential in English Language Arts preferred
Teaching experience of 3-5 years in independent schools preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and grades management experience
High energy level, creativity, positive attitude, and flexibility
Ability to work independently to plan and implement curriculum
Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty to plan and implement cross-curricular lessons/projects
Ability to teach all English content areas at the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels
Ability to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, independence, and ethics in students
Experience with integrating technology in the classroom, including interactive whiteboards and iPads.
Ability to successfully develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, and school families
Enthusiastic about middle school age students
Effective classroom management strategies and skill
Willingness to support the philosophy and mission of the school

Salary is competitive and commensurate with education, skills, and experience and based on a published salary scale. Salary range is $58-82K and includes a generous benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, and retirement benefits.
