Kerry explains, “I had a wonderful experience at Clairbourn and I made some great friends. I wanted my children to be able to have the same positive school experience I had. It was, and still is, a very close family-like community. Dr. Nafie was headmaster when I attended, and it was nice to greet him again on Jeffrey’s first day of school. After all that time, aside from the campus buildings changing, the school felt the same with many familiar faces from when I was a student. It is a warm and nurturing environment. You couldn’t ask for a nicer place to drop your kids off every day.”
Kerry is also a teacher with a BA in Liberal Studies and a teaching credential from San Diego State University. She has worked as a 2nd and 3rd grade in Northern California for 4 years, and is currently in her 6th year of teaching at a local preschool in San Marino.
Kerry is a devoted mother to her sons Matthew and Jeffrey. Both of her sons started at Clairbourn in Kindergarten. Matthew is now in the 7th grade at Clairbourn and Jeffrey graduated from Clairbourn last year and is now a freshman at Flintridge Prep. Kerry loves to volunteer for organizations that serve children. She has volunteered for the Pasadena Children’s Guild, Scouts, and extensively at Clairbourn. Her CFA work at school includes Used Uniforms, Room Mom, Holiday Giving, Special Lunch, Benefit Auction Program Book Coordinator, Teacher Appreciation Coordinator, Book Fair Chair and Book Fair Committee work, Room Parent Officer, and Annual Fund Chair.
Personally, Kerry loves being outdoors, gardening, hiking, going to the beach, camping, reading, and watching movies. Additionally, Kerry’s family is very involved in Boy Scouts. Her husband Mike was the Cubmaster for Clairbourn’s Cub Scout pack. Now he is going on his second year as Scoutmaster for San Marino’s Troop 355 and Kerry is their registration coordinator. Both of their sons are involved and are working their way to Eagle Scout.
