Dr. Amy Patzlaff
Head of School
My educational/professional background:
I have been at Clairbourn since I was three years old. I loved my experience so much that I returned to teach 4th grade after completing my BA in Education and History and obtaining a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and MEd in Education. After teaching for eight years and completing my MS in Leadership and Management, I became the Middle School Director and enjoyed that role for 13 years. I then became the Assistant Head of School and served in that capacity for five years. During that time, I earned my doctorate in Organizational Leadership and eventually was selected as the Head of School. I love my work in supporting the students, faculty, and families here at Clairbourn. It is my great joy to serve the Clairbourn community that was my foundation.
I choose to work at Clairbourn because:
Clairbourn feels like home to me. I love watching the growth and progress of the students who join our community and the care that each teacher takes in supporting their students.
My favorite Clairbourn tradition is:
I love the tradition of greeting the students each day as they come on campus. It is a reminder of why the work is important when I see their joy and excitement for the new day.
What brings me joy is:
Watching the children overcome obstacles.
