Mrs. Janet Taylor
Assistant Head of School
My educational/professional background:
I earned a B.A. from Principia College in English and Studio Art, a M.Ed. in Education and a M.Ed. in Administrative Leadership from the University of La Verne and I hold both multiple and single-subject (ELA) Clear California Teaching credentials, an Administrative Services Credential, and an Early Childhood teaching certificate (UCLA Ext.). I've been a teacher for 27 years and taught preschool, kindergarten and middle school English at Clairbourn. Since 2021 I enjoy being part of the administrative team in my current position as Assistant Head of School.
I choose to work at Clairbourn because:
I love the school's mission of creating scholars and leaders with heart. I like working with colleagues, students and families that value the importance of ethical behavior and want to not only grow academically, but as thoughtful, kind beings that are willing to care for more than just themselves. I love that doing well, being kind, helping others, and striving to be better are valued at Clairbourn and students are supported throughout their Clairbourn experience by very thoughtful, dedicated teachers and support staff.
My favorite Clairbourn tradition is:
The 8th graders give heartfelt graduation speeches each year.
What brings me joy is:
I love spending time with my family. I also love to read mysteries and to bake chocolate chip cookies.
